As a voice-based alarm system, the LifeTel app is equipped with several alarm functions. It uses the existing mobile network or local Wi-Fi to make alarms via voice call or send them as SMS.
We certify that our LifeTel app meets the conditions and regulations of the professional association formerly BGR 139, now BGR/GUV-R 139, and the accident insurance DGUV 112-139,
and fully complies with lone worker protection according to DIN VDE V0825-1/DIN VDE V0825-11.
The LifeTel app supports smartphones with Android 8.1 to 16
The LifeTel app for lone workers is equipped with several alarm functions (including a dead man's switch).
With an existing mobile connection, alarms are sent as voice calls and SMS. Outside buildings, the current GPS coordinates are simultaneously transmitted as location data via SMS.
For location detection inside buildings, the system can optionally be upgraded with accessories for indoor positioning.
This allows emergency and rescue services to be dispatched faster to the right location.
The LifeTel app is especially suitable for:
- Lone workers
- People exposed to special occupational hazards
- Employees in changing, extensive, and noisy workplaces
Of course, the LifeTel app can also be used in private personal settings to quickly provide help to people with physical and psychological limitations.
The application works on smartphones with Android 8.1 – 16. For Android 15-16, a special installation is required. There is a dedicated section in this manual that describes this.

Alarm types
For the alarm types, you have the option to make adjustments, activate a new alarm, or deactivate an already programmed one.
Pre-alarm
The pre-alarm is the alarm that is triggered before the actual alarm. It occurs with the following alarm types: silent alarm, position alarm, time alarm, and escape alarm. This alarm is indicated by a siren tone. You can stop this alarm by responding accordingly:
- For the rest alarm, the pre-alarm is stopped by movement.
- For the position alarm, the pre-alarm is stopped when you change your position to the set position.
- For the time alarm and escape alarm, the pre-alarm is stopped when you select a confirmation on the device's (smartphone's) display.
Rest alarm
Rest alarm – this is the motionlessness alarm. This alarm ensures that if the device (user) remains motionless for more than 10 seconds, the pre-alarm is triggered. You can set an individual time interval in the settings. So if the smartphone detects no movement within the chosen time interval, a vibration signal will sound. If no movement is detected afterward, the device automatically activates the programmed emergency call and/or sends an emergency SMS. However, if movement occurs within the time interval, the time interval restarts and no emergency call is made.
Fall alarm
In case of a fall, the device emits an acoustic signal. If the user of the device falls and does not move, the acoustic alarm is triggered, and the device automatically activates the programmed alarm call and/or sends an emergency SMS. After that, the device continues to emit an acoustic alarm and a screen flashing sequence.
Position alarm
Position alarm is the position alarm. This alarm is responsible for detecting if the user leaves their position (e.g., if the user falls, they change their position). The device will notice this change, the pre-alarm will be triggered, and the device activates the acoustic alarm. If the user moves again within a few seconds and returns to the preset start position, the acoustic alarm will turn off again. However, if the user does not assume the programmed position, the device automatically activates the programmed emergency call and/or sends an emergency SMS.
Positions X, Y, Z – the correct working position that does not trigger an alarm.

Time alarm
Time alarm is the alarm that indicates "I am okay." The user must confirm that everything is fine with them. After the set time, an acoustic alarm sounds and a message appears on the smartphone screen as shown below, which you must click if you are okay.

If you do not click on the above message, the device automatically activates the programmed emergency call and/or sends an emergency SMS. Then a loud tone sounds and the device starts flashing.
Escape alarm
Called escape or epileptic alarm. In the activated alarm or security mode, the LifeTel APP additionally monitors whether there are escape-like or hectic movement sequences. If this occurs for about 10 seconds, the pre-alarm is triggered. The pre-alarm is noticeable by a vibration and a tone. The user then has the option to stop the pre-alarm by stopping the escape-like movement within the next 10 seconds. Then the pre-alarm is interrupted and no emergency call is made or the message appearing on the smartphone screen is clicked.

The pre-alarm is turned off and no emergency call is activated. If the movement does not continue or we do not click on the stop screen, the device automatically activates the programmed emergency call and/or sends an emergency SMS. After that, the device continues to give a visual and acoustic signal.
Technical alarms.
In the alarm menu, after scrolling down, there is a menu with technical alarm settings. They operate independently of basic alarms.

GPS zone
Multiple zones (max. 10) can be combined into a corridor. The boundaries of the zones run along the specified latitudes and longitudes. Diagonal zones cannot be specified. The zones must overlap if they belong to the same corridor. We can set whether the zone should be outside or inside. When the zone is activated, a text message is sent after the user has left the specified zone. Subsequent SMS messages are sent at the frequency set for idle alarm. When the user returns to the specified zone, the device sends a corresponding SMS indicating that the user has returned to the specified zone.

Additional functions
Alarm mode deactivation lock
In the LifeTel device, it is no longer possible for the main switch function, i.e., activating and deactivating the alarm mode (voluntary alarm), to be switched on or off by the wearer (user). The only way for the wearer (user) to switch off the alarm mode is now when the device is connected to the charger. An SMS is sent automatically.
If the device is disconnected from the charger, the alarm mode automatically switches back on. An SMS is sent automatically.
If the main switch is blocked, it is not possible to change alarm settings.
SIM card check
You can activate the function for the LifeTel device to check whether the SIM card is not damaged and whether it is in the device.
Configuration via SMS
The device can be remotely programmed via SMS. Use our free app for this.
Technical SMS settings
The device sends technical notifications when the alarm is activated or deactivated and when the charger is connected or disconnected.
Control center
The device based on LifeTel works with our other app Zentrala. It offers numerous options for protection, monitoring, and control of devices and employees.
Manually place emergency call
Call emergency by clicking. Simply open the Life-Tel APP on your smartphone and press the SOS button. The pre-set emergency number will be called immediately.

Wi-Fi Calling - Wi-Fi calls
If GSM reception is too weak, no alarm call can be made. However, if you have a Wi-Fi network, you can make calls over Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi calling).
Bluetooth accessories

- Bluetooth emergency button N-125
- Indoor location system Z101-145
- External Bluetooth speaker Z101-140
- Deluxe Watch SW101-5
Wi-Fi location
If the company has Wi-Fi devices such as routers, repeaters, APs, we can easily add a new function to locate an employee indoors.
Operating principle:
An employee located in rooms with Wi-Fi coverage in case of an alarm – the name of the room where the event occurred is sent via SMS to the control center.
