Robust outdoor smartphone for lone worker protection
The LifeTel 4 XL is a certified outdoor smartphone with an integrated emergency app based on Android. The device meets the requirements and regulations of professional associations and is especially suitable for protecting lone workers at individual workplaces with loud ambient noise.
Flexible alarm forwarding and emergency call management
You can flexibly manage the LifeTel 4 XL emergency call yourself – for example via:
- Gatekeeper stations
- Operational protection
- own control centers
- external 24h emergency call centers
Alternatively, the 24-hour service of a certified cooperation partner can be used. The control center must be able to receive and process phone calls as well as SMS with GPS coordinates.
Dead man's switch and involuntary alarm
The LifeTel 4 XL automatically detects possible emergencies through defined movement patterns. In case of immobility or unusual situations, a pre-alarm is initially triggered.
If this is not deactivated, for example because the affected person is unconscious, the alarm is automatically forwarded to stored phone numbers or a control center.
GPS tracking for fast rescue operations
In outdoor operations, the GPS position of the injured person can be transmitted. This allows rescue services such as fire brigades or emergency doctors to be quickly located and alerted.
Lone worker protection app for quick help
The specially developed emergency app of the LifeTel 4 XL enables quick location and alerting in an emergency. The device is usually worn on the upper arm and can trigger an alarm automatically or manually.
In an emergency, up to six phone numbers are notified via SMS and/or call.
Alarm functions of the LifeTel 4 XL
Voluntary alarm
SOS emergency button / panic button
The red SOS button is used for immediate manual alarm activation by the user. After pressing, the LifeTel 4 XL automatically sends SMS and/or calls to stored emergency contacts.
Involuntary alarm functions
Inactivity alarm / dead man’s switch
The device continuously monitors the user's movement. If no movement is detected over a defined period, a pre-alarm is triggered first. If there is no response, an alarm is automatically triggered.
Position alarm
Using an integrated position sensor, the LifeTel 4 XL detects unusual device positions. If a defined tilt angle is exceeded and not corrected, an alarm is automatically triggered.
Time alarm
At set times, the device prompts the user to confirm their safety. If no response is received, an alarm is automatically triggered.
Escape alarm
The LifeTel 4 XL detects frantic movement patterns typically occurring in escape situations and automatically triggers an emergency call after a pre-alarm.
Fall alarm
The fall alarm serves as an alternative to the escape alarm when there is an increased risk of falls. The device automatically detects fall movements and alerts stored contacts.
24-hour service and emergency call center
Professional alarm handling around the clock
Individually set who is informed in an emergency and what information is transmitted. Optionally, a certified 24-hour emergency call center can be integrated.

Personal emergency signal systems according to product standard VDE V 0825-1 are suitable for personal emergency signaling during hazardous lone work according to DGUV Rule 112-139 (formerly BGR/GUV-R 139).
Note:
The Life Tel 4 XL is ideal for work in environments with high noise levels from approximately 80 – 100 dB-A.
