Personal Emergency Signal System Life Tel 2 LTE

The Life Tel 2 LTE personal emergency call system is designed to secure lone workers in accordance with the guidelines of the Berufsgenossenschaft BGR 139 / DGUV 112-139. Using the built-in sensors, the Life Tel detects the movement profile of the injured person, so that in an emergency an automatic distress call is triggered to a connected control center.

Safety for You and Your Employees

The mobile personal emergency signal device Life-Tel 2 LTE is specially developed to secure lone workers who work at individual workplaces, on extensive outdoor facilities, and in hazardous areas.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BERUFSGENOSSENSCHAFT

The Life-Tel 2 LTE offers extensive alarm functions that can be combined as desired. In its factory settings, the device meets all requirements according to the German Statutory Accident Insurance, abbreviated DGUV 112-139 (formerly BGR 139). According to the regulations of the Berufsgenossenschaft, employers are obliged to secure lone workers with personal emergency signal devices so that immediate assistance can be initiated in an emergency.

INDEPENDENT ALARM (DEAD MAN'S SWITCH)

Using the built-in sensors, the Life Tel 2 LTE detects the movement profile of the injured person, so that in an emergency an automatic distress signal including an emergency call is triggered to the connected control center, even if the wearer is no longer conscious (dead man’s switch). This immediately activates the rescue chain, so the injured person can be found right away with all transmitted information (e.g., GPS coordinates), when every second counts.

LEGAL BASIS

Lone work is unfortunately not uncommon. In industry as well as in municipal utilities, entire night, Sunday, and holiday shifts are now operated with minimal personnel due to extensive automation. It is expected that the number of lone workers will continue to rise. Occupational safety must therefore adapt to these sometimes entirely new conditions to ensure the level of protection for lone workers.

Information on the Most Important Alarm Types and Their Functions

Position Alarm

The Life-Tel monitors the device’s position using a position sensor. If the wearer deviates from the preset position by more than 45 degrees over a defined period, the Life-Tel triggers a pre-alarm. If the person does not return to the set angle range within the pre-alarm duration (e.g., due to unconsciousness), the Life-Tel 2 triggers the alarm and notifies the preset phone numbers via SMS and/or call.

Inactivity Alarm / Dead Man’s Switch

For the inactivity alarm, the Life-Tel monitors whether the user is moving. If no movement is detected after a user-definable time because the person is incapacitated, the device triggers a pre-alarm. This is indicated visually and acoustically. If the person does not move again within the pre-alarm duration, the Life-Tel 2 triggers the alarm and notifies the preset phone numbers via SMS and/or call.

Time Alarm

For the time alarm, the Life-Tel signals at defined times or intervals by blinking the large buttons and an acoustic signal. By pressing any button, the user acknowledges the message and signals that everything is okay. If no confirmation is received, the Life-Tel triggers the alarm and notifies the preset phone numbers via SMS and/or call.

Escape Alarm

For this alarm, the Life-Tel reacts to frantic movements, as occur during a flight. After the pre-alarm, the Life-Tel triggers the alarm and notifies the preset phone numbers via SMS and/or call.

Fall Alarm

As an alternative to the escape alarm—if an escape alarm is not expected at work but the risk of falls is significantly high—the alarm in case of a fall serves as an alternative.

Technical Alarm

To monitor functionality and readiness for use, the Life-Tel is equipped with several technical alarm functions. These check battery capacity, GSM reception, GPS reception, and sensor functionality. If a limit is undershot or a sensor malfunction occurs, a technical alarm is triggered and the Life-Tel notifies the preset phone numbers via SMS and/or call.

GPS Location Tracking

The Life-Tel 2 is equipped with a GPS receiver that allows querying GPS coordinates at any time. In the event of an alarm, the available GPS coordinates are always sent with the alarm SMS. For manual localization of persons, enter the coordinates into one of the many online services or a suitable program. To save power, GPS query intervals can be set and adjusted.

GPS Zone Alarm

If the user should not leave a certain area, the GPS zone alarm enables corresponding monitoring. You set up a GPS zone by entering GPS coordinates. Each time the user leaves or enters the zone, the Life-Tel 2 sends an alarm message via SMS.
