The Life-Tel 8 L EX is a certified industrial smartphone with an Android operating system for use in explosive environments. It was specially developed to secure hazardous lone work and supports companies in reliably increasing the safety of employees in Ex zones.

Thanks to the integrated emergency app, GPS tracking, sensors, and automatic alarm functions, the Life-Tel 8 L EX can quickly trigger help in an emergency and transmit important information to predefined contacts or an emergency call center.

Automatic alarm in case of danger

Acceleration and position sensors detect critical situations based on the movement profile of the wearer. Depending on the configuration, the device can automatically trigger a pre-alarm or emergency call.

During the pre-alarm, the user has the option to acknowledge the alarm. If there is no response, the Life-Tel 8 L EX automatically sends an emergency call to the stored phone numbers or to a connected control center.

The integrated GPS module transmits the position directly in an emergency. This allows the rescue chain to be quickly initiated when every second counts.

Alarm functions

SOS emergency call / panic button

The red SOS button allows for immediate manual alarm activation. After pressing the button, the Life-Tel 8 L EX promptly sends alarms to up to three pre-programmed phone numbers. Notification is sent via SMS and/or call.

Silent alarm / dead man's switch

The inactivity alarm monitors whether the user is still moving. If no movement is detected over a defined period, an optical and acoustic pre-alarm starts. If no acknowledgment is given, an emergency call is automatically triggered.

Position Alarm

The integrated position sensor monitors the device’s orientation. If the Life-Tel 8 L EX deviates by more than 45 degrees from the preset position for a defined period, a pre-alarm is triggered. If there is no return to the defined angle range, the device automatically alerts the stored contacts.

Time Alarm

The time alarm prompts the user at set times or defined intervals to confirm. If no acknowledgment is made by pressing a button, an alarm is automatically triggered.

Escape Alarm

The escape alarm reacts to frantic movements, as can occur in dangerous situations or during an escape. After a pre-alarm, if no acknowledgment is given, an emergency call is automatically triggered.

Fall Alarm

The fall alarm detects possible fall events and serves as an alternative to the escape alarm, especially in work areas with increased fall risk.

24-Hour Service / Emergency Call Center

You individually determine who is notified in an emergency, when, and with what information. The alerting can be managed internally or connected via the 24-hour service of a certified cooperation partner.

Personal emergency signaling systems that comply with the product standard VDE V 0825-1 built and configured, are suitable for personal emergency signaling during hazardous lone work according to DGUV Rule 112-139.

WLAN Support

If GSM reception is too weak and an emergency call is not possible, the Life-Tel 8 L EX can automatically connect to an available WLAN network.
