Personal Emergency Signal System Life Tel LTE

Life-Tel 1 and 2 LTE with fall alarm, escape alarm, and time alarm.
The Life Tel Series

Our personal emergency signal devices are specially designed to secure mobile lone worker positions. That means for employees/lone workers who work on extensive outdoor sites and in hazardous areas.

Compliance with the regulations of the professional associations

Our slim 3-button solution offers extensive alarm functions that can be combined as desired. In the factory setting, the device meets all requirements according to the German Statutory Accident Insurance, abbreviated DGUV 112-139 (formerly BGR 139). According to the regulations of the professional association, employers are obliged to secure dangerous lone work with personal emergency signal devices so that immediate assistance can be initiated in an emergency.

Will-independent alarm
(dead man’s switch)

With the help of the built-in sensors, the Life Tel detects the movement profile of the injured person, so that in an emergency an emergency signal including an emergency call is automatically triggered to the connected control center, even if the wearer is no longer conscious (dead man’s switch). This immediately activates the rescue chain so that the injured person can be found right away with all transmitted information (e.g., GPS coordinates), when every second counts.

Note: If the lone workplace is affected by ambient noise, we recommend the M version with integrated vibration motor.

Legal foundations

Lone work is unfortunately not uncommon. In industry as well as in municipal utilities, entire night, Sunday, and holiday shifts are now operated with minimal personnel thanks to extensive automation. It is expected that the number of lone workers will continue to rise. Occupational safety must therefore adapt to these sometimes entirely new conditions to ensure the level of protection for lone workers.

Risk assessment

Employees who work alone and suffer an accident (e.g., fall, electric shock, or injury) or are victims of attacks are often not found for an extended period. This time can be critical for the health and life of those affected. According to § 5 of the Occupational Safety Act, the employer must identify the hazards associated with lone work and assess the working conditions. Based on the assessment, appropriate measures must be planned and documented according to § 6 of the Occupational Safety Act. Protective measures are especially relevant for “hazardous work.” In this context, work is considered hazardous if there is an increased or critical risk due to the work process, type of activity, substances used, or environment.

The DGUV states: “If hazardous work is performed by a person alone, the employer must ensure suitable technical or organizational personal protection measures in addition to general protective measures” (§ 8 para. 2 DGUV Regulation 1).

Recommended by professional associations and the DGUV.

Personal emergency signal systems built and configured according to product standard VDE V 0825-1 are suitable for personal emergency signaling during hazardous lone work in accordance with DGUV Rule 112–139 (formerly BGR/GUV-R 139).
